DANCE AT GATE PA

ENJOYABLE FUNCTION

The Pye’s Pa Sports Club held a very successful plain and fancy, dress masquerade ball in the Gate Pa Hall recently. There was a large attendance and many original costumes were worn by the dancers. The lady’s prize was won by Miss R. Rider (“Lavender and Lace”) and the men’s prize was awarded to Mr Ron Dean and Mr Stan Nichols, who represented “The Plunket Twins.” A spot waltz competition was held, and was won by two visitors, whose names are not known. A dance, the Statue Log Cabin, was won by Miss P. Thornton and Mr Barry Budd. A jumbled car f naming competition was won by Mr Arthur Wood, who handed in forty-six correct names. The judge of the fancy costumes was rM J. L. McCullough. Mr K. Pearson acted as the master of ceremonies. The ladies of the Pye’s Pa district provided an excellent supper. The music was played by Morine’s Orchestra. The proceeds will make a substantial addition to the Club’s fund.
