Motorists are faced with the menace of straying cattle on the Te Puke main road at night. On Wednesday last a local resident passed some young cattle grazing on the road between Welcome Bay and Papamoa and having occasion to pass along the same road late on Friday night was fortunate in escaping collision with the same cattle. Evidently some graziers still take advantage of feed available on the “long padodek” even at the risk of others’ legitimate use of the King's highway.
