Motor Drivers’ Licenses

The Waitaki County Council has decided to protest vigorously against the Government taking away the council's authority to issue motor drivers’ licenses.

School Closing; Urged. At a meeting of workers employed casually on the waterfront at Auckland it was decided to send the following telegram to the Minister of Health, the Hon. P. Fraser: — “A mass meeting of 700 casual workers on the Auckland waterfront unanimously requests the Minister of Health to close the schools because of positive cases of infantile paralysis.”
