GOODS CARRIED BY BOAT ROTORUA CONNECTION RETENTION ADVOCATED Cr lies referred at last night's meeting of the Tauranga Borough Council to the transport of goods by road from the port of Tauranga to Rotorua and urged that that service should he allowed to continue. He thought the Council should take up the case for the harbour and moved —That this Council enters a strong protest against any proposed action by the Licensing Authority in respect to the Rotorua freight service, as such action would materially interfere with the legitimate area and trading of the Tauranga harbour and would have a very detrimental effect on the welfare of the whole district. Cr McFarlane seconded. Crs Youngman, McKinnon and McFarlane all supported the ' motion, which was carried unanimously.
