THE SHOW
ENTRIES O’ TO EXPECTATION’S Entries for the ’forthcoming show which is to be held on AVednesday are fully up to expectations. In the Jersey cattle section mere will be keen competition and the Friesian cattle section has improved very much on last years showing. Shorthorn cattle exhibits are, lacking, this breed seeming to have dropped off somewhat. In the horse section, there is a very gratifying increase of exhibits. The draughts will be the best that have been shown in Tauranga. The Roadster classes are also good. In the Pig section all classes are well up, and this department should have some very fine animals on show. Prizes in the Horse and Cattle and Pig sections will, in the face of the big entries, be certificates of outstanding merit. The tide shows and Trade space is fully booked up, and it is now a source of anxiety to know how to accommodate late appliants. The dogs for the Whippet racing will be here to-morrow, when final arrangements for the events on Show Day will be completed. Great interest is being taken in the Push Ball Game, Six teams have already entered, and Mr Roy Packman of the Referees’ Association will have charge of the games.
