A PAGE FROM THE PAST Tauranga 50 Years Ago These interesting paragraphs appeared in the Bay of Plenty Times of January 23rd., ISS6: — "The following notice of motion has been tabled by Cr Horne to be moved at the next meeting of the Borough Council: 'That this Council authorises the raising of a loan on debentures repayable on 1 - months notice to such an amount as may be required to pay off the whole of the existing liabilities of the Borough. and also for the purpose of purchasing and improving the wharves, and that the revenue of the Borough be pledged as security for such loan.
