GOLF CLUB
LADIES’ OXK DAY TOURNAMENT. In.spite of the unfavourable weather a very succesful one day tournament was held on the links yesterday. Players were present from Maungakiekie, Morrinsville, Waihi and Te Puke. Luncheon and afternoon tea were served at the club house by a band of willing helpers under the capable supervision of Mrs Hanna, The morning medal handicap was won by Miss Brown (Te Puke), 1 OS-27, 8L In the four-ball best ball competition over 12 holes played in the afternoon, the bept scores were: Miss E. Butcher and Miss Brown (Te Puke), 68-17, 51; Mrs Mason (Maungakiekie) and Miss Humphreys, 6210, 52; Mrs Heald and Mrs §tepdman, 63-9, 54; JVliss Mark and Miss Goodrich, 64-12, 52. The putting competition was won i;y Mrs McKerrow. The Ladles’ Committee are grateful to the donors of trophies and the following ladies for their assist? ance: Mesdames Brookes, 1 Phelan, and Robbie, Misses Gavey and Phelan. •
At the close of the afternoon the tiophies were presented to the winners by Mrs D. V. Hanna.
