“THE WOMEN'S DIVISION."
(To the Editor.) Sir, —Will you allow me, through the columns of your paper, to bring the following matter to the notice of the farmers’ wives of this district. Some months ago a branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers ■Union was formed in Tauranga, and has since been carried on by a small band of enthusiasts who must have the support of country women if they are to go on with the good work they have begun. The membership fee is only 2s Gd and entitles country women to many privileges. At a recent meeting held here delegates from all parts of the Bay of Plenty were present, and reported on the good work their various branches were doing, notably that of providing country mothers with reliable house-keepers during illness or convalescence, irrespective of their ability to pay for such help. The Tauranga Branch has only a small membership, but is holding a credit balance of £9. They are having a meeting as advertised and unless accorded the support of country women will have to disband. Let us, as farmers’ wives, show our appreciation of these women’s efforts on our behalf by attending their meeting on Saturday next and according them the moral and financial support their effort deserves. Thanking you, Mr Editor, for space. —I am, etc., FARMER'S WIFE. Aug. 10th.. 1932.
