MUIR’S REEF PLANT
SOLD TO GOLDEN DAWN MINES, COMPANY. ■ The purchase of the battery, plant, i (tear of Muir's Reef Gold Mines, i Ltd., at Te Puke, has been completed by the Golden Dawn Gold Mines, | Ltd,, with the Mines Department. : Operations are now under way at i both Te Puke and the Golden Dawn j Company’s battery site at Owlmroa, I near Waihi, for the removal and rej erection of the plant and the erection of additional plant and machinery I recommended by Mr .1. Noble, battery , engineer of Thames, to bring the com- | pany’s present 10-stamper battery up jto date. It is anticipated that the j improvements will be completed and j the battery running in about four | months. Everything is in readiness ! at the mine immediately the battery j is ready to supply ore from the several faces on Nos 1 and 3 reefs, in ' which the mine manager estimates j there are 8000 tons at present availI able and from which the run of 500 i tons treated at the Waihi Company’s i battery at Waikino was supplied. A | condition of the favourable terms of i the sale by the Minos Department is ! that, while operating the battery, and : subject to priority of its own requirements, tiie company will treat ore for ‘ prospectors and others on terms arl ranged. This will give facilities for I the treatment of outside ore which ' do not exist at present and which | have been the subject of many requests in the past, in addition to providing a remunerative return for the company.
