THE REGENT. c A great double star programm will be shown at the Regent to r" night, headed by Reginald Denny ii j his latest comedy farce titled “Em , harassing Moments.’’ In this fea ture Denny is cast as a wealth; . young club-man, Just returned frbn 5 a big-game hunting expedition, ant very bored with life. He receive! an imperative summons from some one he does not know to come to i I small town. Arriving there, h< ” discovers that the daughter of tht , house has claimed him as her fiance . and that her father demands immed- ; late marriage. The girl attracts ' Denny, who begins to -understand her escapade: and naturally the story ends up with their marriage but only after a succession of inci- ' dents Inside and outside bed-roon 1 doors, all of them entailing sufli cient embarrassment for Denny to fit in with the title. The second star feature is a thrill ) ing story of Jazz mad youth titled f “Girls Gone Wild.” Sue Carol and Nick Stuart are the leading players. This is a clever story of a care-free ; flapper, spoiled by indulgent parents, who goes a step too far in saerch of a “thrill” and becomes involved in a feud between desper- ’ ate gangsters. She is regenerated ‘ by love and a realisation that mod- ’ ern freedom of youth is not license. This great double star programme will be shown to-night only. On Monday and Tuesday, commencing with a matinee on Monday at 2 p.m., one of the greatest problem plays yet attempted to be put into picture form will be presented. This feature is titled "Interference,” and has an all star cast headed by Clive Brook, Evelyn Brent, William Powell and Doris Kenyon. “Interference” has been called a "melodrama of the upperworld,” and is every bit of that. It concerns the story of a polished reprobate, living on the brink of death, who kills a woman who loves him and gives his own life to save the reputation of the woman he himself loves. This • Sensational feature has been recommended by the censor more especially for people over the age of 16 years. The box plan is now open and seats may be reserved by ringing the Regent. OPERA HOUSE. Described as one of the most thrilling dramas, yet screened, “Wolves of the Underworld” will ..be one of the attractions of the doublestar programme at the Opera House to-night. The story tells of the machinations of a gang of counterfeiters, who flood the city with spurious bank notes, and the efforts of a young criminologist to round up the gang. At the outset they capture him, but by a clever rust! he escapes and begins a ruthless chase In turn to capture them. The many complications that arise, and the ultimate success of the criminologist, ! , combine to nfake a very stirring picture. 'Strongheart,’ the wonderfully trained actor dog, is" featured in "North Star,” and entertaining ; and thrilling drama of the .’’Western woods. Ken Maynard, Virginia Lee Corliss and Stuart Holmes also take leading roles, while much comedy is supplied by gentleman of the road. | A Gazette and two Comedies are I also included In the programme. i —— , ' j
