WEDNESDAY'S GYMKHANA. Arrangement:: toi the gymkhatu on the show grounds on Wednesday, m aid o£ the Country Queen, were finalised on Saturday last, "hen stewards and judge, were appointed and other details settled. In addition to the programme already published, the Committee has derided to make a start at 11 a.ni., •with sports lor the children. During the afternoon a fancy dress parade will lie held, and .ill disposed to attend in fancy dress an’ asked to do so ,in order p> add t" the fun and merriment. All intending to take part in the various events are urged to get their entries in without delay, as there is a very long programme to get through. l The Sen clary will he at the office on the ground from u o'clock to receive entries. The various officials will wear distinctive rosettes —President, blue white and green; .judge', ml and green; organiser., white: stewards, white and gieen; treasurer, orange and green; secretary , pink and green. In addition to the military display tin- school cadets will give an exhibition of Swedish drill. The gymkhana, is to be opened by the County Chairman, Mr W. F, Sinclair in the absence of .Mr Macmillan, membci for tin* district. COMMITTEE M F.LTINGS. Ladies’ Committee. The ladies’ eommittec met in ithe Coronation Hall on Saturday mdrning. Mrs \V. J. While presided over a strong committee, who are working enthusiastically for the loimtry candidate. Details in toned ion with the catering at the Gymkhana were finalised. Funds in hand from the sale of tickets wore handed in tn the treasurer. Men’s Committee. The Men's committee of the Gymkhana met in the Coronation Hall on Saturday. There were present; Mr \\‘. F. Sinclair (Chairman), Mcssis K. McLeod, W. Kennedy, T. R. Merriman, K, I). Pearson, A. P. Wood. J. K. Hamilton, F. W. Keam, T, McKenna, Major Bennett anti Mr F. K. H. Pearson. Mr Wood was elected chief ring steward with power to select assistance. Messrs J. Armstrong, H. Benjamin. Ales Stuart and W. J. White were added to the committee. The following officials were elected for the Gymkhana;— Dr Bertram, Judge of Hor-o Events Mr R. Randle, Timekeeper. Mr C. F. Washer, Judge of Mob or Events. Major Bennett, stariei of Military Events. Stewards wine elected for, Ladies' Motor Events, Misses Gilmour and Ollard; Men’s Motor Events, Messrs Morrow, Ferguson, Hodgeman; Sheaf Tossing, Messrs K. Pearson. T. Keenan. R, McLeod, T .R. Merrinian; Call Stewards, Misses R. Stewart and E. Leggc; Megaphone, Mr M. Pcrston; Guessing Competitions. Messrs Arthur Woods and Jack Taylor. Mr J. Neal was to he a-ked to take charge of gate arrangements. Mr J. McKenna offered to supply milk for the day, which was accepted with thanks. It was resolved on the motion Of Mr McKenna that the Secretary Ire instructed to write to the A. and T. Association for permission, to use the grounds and gear, the committee to be responsible for the cate of same.
