HOSPITAL FETE

GREATLY MARRED BY INCLEMENT WEATHER. The extensive preparations and arrangements which had been undertaken during the last six weeks by the Matron of the Hospital, Miss Murray, and members of the Hospital League, were sadly upset by the wet weather yesterday. However it was quite wonderful the lively the helpers .put their best efforts forward and transformed the Coronation Hall yesterday to bake the place oj; th© Hospital grounds, where it had been intended to hold the first Hospital Garden Fete.

It was not possible to erect, sufficient stalls to sell all the wares so it was decided to sell only the produce, cakes, home-made sweets; and cut flowers and plants! Afternoon tea was served also and the takings were remarkably goodThe Garden Fete will now take place on Wednesday next at the Hospital and it is hoped that generous support will be forthcoming-
