ADVANCES IN CHICAGO.

.Chicago, Aug. 6. An advance of 50 to 55 cents per bushel in the price of wheat since June I has caused United States farmers to market their old and new wheat at a more rapid rati# than at any time on record. The visible supply in two weeks —which includes commercial supplies at 26 leading points of accumulation, also that in transit in tho lakes and canals —has increased by practically 30.000,000 bushels. Since June I the accumulation has been 41,000,000 bushels. The total supplies at all commercial points are nearly the largest on record, namely, 137,387.000 bushels, compared with 63,316.000 this time last year. Closing prices in Chicago to-day were: September, 1 d-liar 31 B-8 cents per bushel; December, 1 dollar 40 cents; March, 1 dollar 44j cents; May, l dollar 48J cents.
