DYSENTERY

TWENTY-THREE DEATHS. Auckland, April 23 There have been ninety-seven cases of dysentery reported in the Auckland health district during the last three weeks and twentythree have been fatal. Yesterday morning thirty-six cases and nine deaths were notified. Discussing the outbreak, Dr Ellison said there was no doubt thai dysentery had commenced in the Southern suburban areas, and had been slowly spreading southwards. They had good reason to believe that infection in one instance had been traced. Auckland, April 23, 1.22 p.m. Nino more dysentery cases were reported to the Auckland Health Department this morning, six being from Raglan County and one from Mokai, on the Taupo Timber Co’s line. One of the Raglan cases was fatal.
