MATAHUI ROAD
SETTLERS OFFER HELP. Mr J. B. Clark, in a loiter read at the last mooting of the Tauranga County Council, directed attention to the Matahui Road. He stated there is heavy traffic on it and it l is also the main road to Matakana. ft is two years since the road was graded, and it is becoming very rough. It will get into a very had condition after the autumn rains. Accompanying the letter was the following petition: "The undersigned will give- the following donations to be used in metalling, with tailings, the worst places on Matahui Road, providing the Tauranga County pays a £l for £l subsidy: J. B. Clark. £5; F J EettJeinghani, £2; H. Woods, £3 • Mrs W Hume, £3. We will also undertake the preparing of the road and the spreading of the m fl t l a j; hope the equal of wages W 1“ included m the subsidy.” Cr .Sinclair moved—That the mater be referred to the engineer and the mover, with power to act.—Seconded by Cr Darragh and carried.
