The past two days resulted in eleven deaths, and brought the temperature from 90 degrees to 100 degrees in many cities. The comparatively low humidity reduced fatalities, which otherwise would have been higher. New York, with the hottest July 13 for over half a century, reported four deaths and eight prostrations.—(A. and N.Z.) DEATH RATE INCREASING. . Rec. July l.>. a.m. New York, July 14. The heat wav e in the Eastern States continues unabated, and has now caused over fifty deaths. Acute suffering has beeen created, and numerous prostrations ar reported. Many stores and offices are being closed early, and the production is thereby reduced in some industries.
