April 18 Kona, a village of Hoopuiac on the south-west shore of the Island of Hawaii, was completely wiped out on Sunday morning by an avalanche of lava that burst from the volcano Maura Loa. Ten to fifteen houses were engulfed. There is no report in connection with the fate of (he inhabitants—(Reuter.)
