DRILL HALL SITE

Colonel H. R. Folter, Northern Command, Auckland has written to the Borough Council in regard to the Tauranga drill hall-site, and states that in view of the numbi rof centres in which no drill accommodation is available, there is no likelihood of the Defence Department contemplating the erection of a drill hall at Tauranga for at least three years. It is also considered that the terms. suggested by the Borough Council fn respect of the proposed site do not give the Depaitment sufficient freedom for the Cou n cil’s proposal to be favourably considered.

The letter was read at the meeting of the Borough Council last night and was received.
