The proposal by the Auckland Farmers' Freezing Company to establish branch freezing works at Waipuna, Bay of Islands, is progressing satisfactorily—(says the Auckland Star.) The machinery and equipment for the new works have been purchased ifl England by the works superintendent Mr T. Simson, who made a special journey for the purpose. MrS. J. Ambury, chairman ot directors, states that preliminary work in connection with the preparation of the site for the build" ings and the acquisition of the necessary material has already been commenced, and it is anticipated that the works will beio operation by the beginning of the 1920-21 season. A block of land, between 670 and 700 acres, has been acquired for the works, which will have a daily killing 1 capacity of 2000 carcases" ana, storage space for about 1000*. . carcases.
