General Hindtnburg's birthday was celebrated throughout Germany. Tlie newspapers eulogise the deliverer of East Prussia. Thousands of school children assembled in front of a colossal wooden statue in front of the Reichstag and hammered nails in their idol singing patriotic pongs. Zeppeliaa and aeroplanes also did homage to the statue.
