A MOCK DUEL.
FATALITY IN A" GYMNASIUM.
Stratford, Dec 2 Arthur Fred Lawrence, aged eiglitean, was the victim of a fatal shotting accident at Toko on Saturday night. A circus was to have performed in the township that night, but failed to arrive.
Lawrence, with a number of companions, was running a mock circus in a room usod as a gymnasium, and' a duel was announced between Lawrence and"a boy named Oorbott, seventeen years of age. .
The .boys took down two sbotguoa from the wall, aud they commenced the duel. '
Lawrence snapped the trigger repeatedly, then Corbett responded. There was a loud report, and Lawrence fell, the charge lodging in his jaw and throat,
Dr. Steven was summoned, and the unfortunate lal was conveyed to Stratford # Hospital, but he died before admittance.
