ACCESS AT GREERTON.

Regarding Messra Marshall, Whit* lock and Clemson'a request for a road to be opened to section 2, areport, prepared by Captain Turner, was read at yesterday's meeting of the County Council. The engineer stated that he had reported on the road on three occasions, viz., February Bth and October 22nd, 1908, and July Bth, 190?,> and he referred the Waimapu Separate Rate Committee to those reports. He stated: "There is another road that; might be made, leading from the cemetery to the beach and crossing the salt-water swamp to section 20, at a much less cost than on the road laid off. The actual cost of forming these roads cannot be ascertained without going to the expense of an engineering survey. I don't think the present road could be formed for less than £350 to £400, and then it would encroach on private land.", • It was decided to hand the report to he Waimapu Separate Rate Commit, tee. .•' ," ■■. .'v -■-■•, ; - ■••■.■
