SICKNESS AMONG SHEEP.
Daboaville, April 14. Mr Lyons, Government veterinary rorgeon, yesterday insp3cted Mr Edwin Harding's flock, and found that the lickness with which the stock is affected was mostly among ewes, and was known as facial eczema. The disease is not infections, bat is caused by an ttcessof soft grass. It appears that if sheep are in low condition and are pot on soft grass, heavy mortality is frequently caused. Fortunately, Mr Harding's flock was mostly in heavy condition, so that losses would only be about one per cent. The remedy laid down is to remove the flock and put them on dry pasture. The next place visited was Mangarata, where Dreadon BlOSthave bad considerable trouble. Their flock was affected with th« same trouble. The complaint has been created principally by a moist, warm season, which has been responsible for a superabundance of pasturage contain* iDg too much moisture.
