TAURANGA BOATING CLUB.
The annual meeting of the above i was held in the Commercial Hotel ast evening, wh?n there were present : Messrs T. Slnt.U (chairman), W. Hammond, C Blick, J. I Prsc-e, J. Quintan, C. F. Hulme, J. ! McStay,. E. Chadban, J. Toomath, J. H Clayton, T. Cullen, E. J. Cullen, G. Mee'han, T. Nixon, W. Dowling and C. C. Norris. The balance-sheet, audited by Mr A. F. Tunks, was read and adopted. The balance in hand ajnoaintied to £4 37s Id. Pursuant to (notice, the chairman moved that the fee for protests -be raised from 2s 6d to £1 is, and that the rules be altered accordingly.—Seconded fry Mr T. Culten and carried. Mr Clayton moved that Xv T. Stuart be re-ekcted commodore.— Mr W. Hammond seconded, and the motion was carried unanimously. Mr C. Hiilme was unanimously elected secretary and treasurer. The following cornmiteee were elected : Messrs W. Dowling, E. Chadban, J. Toomatb, J. McStay, T. Cullen, J. Quinton and W. H. Pool?. Mr W. H. Herrios, M.P., was rcelected patron of the club. The following officials were also elected :— Judge, Mr G. \. Erabant ; starter, Mr G. Meehan ; handicapper, Mr R. Farquhar ; tinwkeeper, Mr G. McArthur.
Mr E. Chadban proposed— That the club hold a water-carnival on Easter Monday.— Seconded by Mr Quiriton and carried. The chairman proposed a vote ,l»l thanks to Mr A. F. Tuoks for auditing the club's accounts during ehe past three years.— Seconded by Mr Ohadban and carried. 11 was resolved to open, an ac no;mt with the Dank of Ausiralasla and that cheques he signed by the commodore and treasurer. Votes nf tharvks w;ere unahitnoi:tly Dassed to the commodore (Mr Stuart), l\fr 'j. H. Clayton and Mi T. Cullen, for their past services. Thit concluded the business of th* meeting and the corr.m-it.tee met immediately afterwards to frame ' a programme. Auxiliary Yacht Race, use of sails permitted, handicap. Motpr Launch Race, all comers 5 h.p. and over, handicap. Sailing Race, all "omrrs, corkscrew course, handicap. • Launch Race, fcr launches under 5 bvp. handicap. Auxiliary Raw, same as the third rcca. The secretary was authorised to interview the committee of the Tauranga Trass Band, relative to their services during the regatta. The committee then adjourned till evening when the prizes will be allotted.
