The s.s. Fingal arrived from Maketu yesterday afternoon with a full load of maize for Auckland. She leaves again to-night for the same place where she loads with flax and maize. The Rotorua Motor Syndicate and Messrs Robertson and Co., the wellknown coaching firm, have amalgamated, with the result that several powerful earn for 1 passenger traffic have been ordered. The s.s. Winter may now be said to have set in as on Monday night several degrees of frost were registered. For tbe last few weeks, considering tbe season of the year, the weather has been delightful, with a compelte absence of rain. Tbe Town Clerk, Mr J. H.
