Suicide.
Auckland, Wednesday. — A shocking tragedy took place last evening. Mrs Black, wife of Ohas. Black, Nelson Street, cutting her throat with her husband's razor in her bedroom. Mrs Black had been in delicate health for the past 12 months. A few months ago she married Mr Black, who is a fireman employed at the D.S.C. furniture factory. On Monday Mrs Black had a miscarriage, but the patient seemed to be getting on favourably. Her mother, Mrs Catherine Wilson had been nursiug her. While engaged in cooking Mrs Wilson thought she heard her daughter coughing in a peculiar fashion and went into the bedroom to see what was wrong. She saw blood trickling down by her mouth, and thinking her daughter had burst a bioodvessbl raised her head up. To her horror Mrs Wilson tben saw blood streaming down her daughter's breast, her throat gashed and the sheen of a razor below the coverlet. She lan outside screaming, and some neighbours ran into the house with her. Mrs Black was then unconscious and after a few gurgling gasps died. The unfortunate woman is only 20 years of age. An inquest will be held.
