Falling off in revenue. Melbouene, November 14. — Owing to a serious decline in the revenue, due largely to the shortage in the wool clip affecting the railway revenue, and a' fa' ling in the Customs the Treasurer has requested the Departments to curtail their expenditure and carry out only important 'and urgent works. Philip Miller, a^ed 16, was accidentally smothered in a rabbit burrow at Luck now firm, near Bacchus Marsh- He was not misled until the next morning, when his body was found in a crouching position at the bottom of a 6ft hole. He had been hunting foi a continuation of the burrow, when several tons weight of soil fell on his back.
