A large number of young men atp tended the meeting which was presided ov?r by C. Malfrov, Esq., and all were euthusiastic in the affair. A committee was elected to canvass the district for support in the way of subscriptions for, the first purchase of necessary instruments and to call a further meeting in about a fortnight to report progress, Mr Seddon promised £2 2s and Mr Malfroy £5 in the room.
