MEDICAL SENSATION.
This Day. t An old lady named Mrs Cole, of Manga wai, died on Saturday morning, the alleged cause being accutedysentry. Some eensalion is now caused by toe publication of a statement that after a hypodermic injection of morphia by Dr Murray Moore, seven and a quarter hours prior to death, she never regained consciousness. Drs Moore and Girdler, however, maintain that death was due entirely to exhaustion, consequent on acuto dysentery. EAISING SCHOOL AGE. The Educational Inititute passed a resolution on Saturday in favour of raising the scbool age to six years. RICH SHAKES. . In consequence of improved proipects Cambria shares have gone up to7s6d. FIRE. A four roomed cottage; the property of Thomas Barrett, Maketu, was destroyed by fire on the 24th. SUDDEN DEATH. Alex. Keith died suddenly at Kihikihi on Friday of inflammation of the bowels. FATAL ACCIDENT. Thames, yesterday. A fatal accident occurred in the Saxon mine this afternoon. A miner named Kichard Boden. was buried beneath a mass of stuff. He was dug out and brought to the surface. When found he was quite dead. FRISCO HAILS. "Wellington, yesterday. The Zoalandia left Frisco for Auckland on the 16th inst. one day late. The Alameda arrived at Frisco from Auckland on 26th one day in advance of time. RUN OVER. New Plymouth, yesterday. John Power was killed on Friday by a bullock dray passing over his body. * FATAL KICK.; Dunedin, yesterday. Alfred Hay died at the hospital from the effect of a kick from a horse. SUDDEN DEATH. Inteeoargill, yesterday. David Sm it Ji merchant, died suddenly yesterday in a chair while reading a book.
