Thbee cases were brought at Wanganui lately agaiusfc borough couueillora for breaches of the Municipal Corporation Act. •.:- . G. Carson, "Wanganui Chronicle, was fined £100 for voting while accounts due to him for advertising remained unpaid. It was pointed, out. that whilst the English Aotsv'-from which New Zealand Acts had been copied, had been amended to exclude newspaper advertisements the New* .Zealand Apti had not been so. The other caßes against. Pardon were adjourned for a week. 'In tlie case iggaßt^JT J 'Murrayrof the Murray foundry,. Aeiev&ini pointed out the work couldi not haye been done anywhfreels&in Wanganui. Ho had never .dojfrß;auy work which any other local tradesman coulddo. The cases against him were adjourned for a week. In thej ; case against J.
