WRESTLING- DINNIE AND MILLER.
The Victoria Hall, Melbourne, on the I7tli July, was crowded on th© occasion of the wrestling match, Donald Dinnie v. Professor Miller. The first bout was in the " side bold " style, in which Dinnie had Miller in trouble from the start. After seven minutes, he got the " clinching lock," which he had been striring for, and threw Miller squarely. The next fall was in the G-neco-Koman style, at which Miller was facile jimiceps. Dinnie several times caught Miller round the waist from the back, and tried to throw him backwards ; but he wasted. 1 his strength by doing so. Miller at 1 last got a body hold, and forced Din--1 nic on his hands and knees. He then got his hands up to Dinnie's head, and put him afterwards fairly on his back. Time,' 17 minutes. Cornish wrestling was the next style, and Dinnie at once showed himself an expert at it. He acted on the offensive throughout, and after 18 minutes he threw Miller. " Catch as catch can " was the next style, and great struggles 1 took place for 23 minutes, when Miller got hold of Dinnie's left leg from 1 behind, then lifted his two legs off the ground and tried to turn him over on his back. Diunie made three or four jumps forward on his hands, but 1 Miller turned him right over, thus 1 making the scoring even. Last con- , test was in the Scotch style, in which Dinnie twice threw Miller, but could not keep him down more, than 20 seconds ; but the fourth time Diunie ! threw him, and then in spite of all | that Miller could do, he pinned him '■ to the floor until the fall was won and 1 celebrated by tumultuous cheering, ' and Dinnie was declared the winner.
