MR SHEEHAN AT PAEROA. [BY TELEGRAPH.]

(PROir OUB SPECIAL COBEESPONDENT.) Paeroa, Tuesday. Mr Sheehan's {meeting last niglit was an undoubted success. 11l the early part of the day he met Mr Kelly and invited him to be present, but Mr Kelly declined tlie invitation. Later, an extra was issued by the local paper* challenging him publicly to be present and malce good the accusations he had made against Shoehan. He then made up his mind to be present. The meeting was & lai'ge one ; Sheehan charged Kelly who was present in the body of the hall to make- good his accusations, and during an hour's speech which elicited undoubted applause, he discussed the various local topics of the day. After a great deal of persuasion Kelly was induced to mount the platform and in a speech which elicited roars of laughter and ironical applause, virtually endorsed the various propositions put forward by Sheehan. . At the conclusion a vote of hearty thanks and confidence was proposed for Sheehan, which on being put was carried without a single dissent; The Chairman then asked if no other motion was to be proposed ; after a lull of some minutes duration Sheehan proposed that a vote, of thanks should be accorded to Kelly. No response in the way of seconding it was made until Sheehan again got up and invited a seconder. On being put to the meeting the rote of thanks was carried amidst dissent Later in the evening a moat influential committee was, appointed to promote Sheehan's candidature. He proceeds to-day to the Lower Thames and will reach Tauranga early on Thursday. \
