Friday. Colonel Reader visited Lyttelton yesterday on defence business. A deputation of ladies waited on Sir Julius Yogel yesterday, requesting legislation to allow women to vote under the Licensing Act. Sir Juliua favours extending general franchise to the sex.
Sir Julius Yogel arranged to purchase the Balcai and Ashhurton-Forks Railway subject to the approval o£ the shareholders and Parliament.
