BOROUGH COUNCIL.

An ordinary meeting of the above Council took place yesterday at 2 p.m. Present — Thomas Wrigley, Esq., Mayor, Ors Clarebrough, Maxwell, Oonway, Gray, Louch, Ellis. Jordan, and Bodell. The Borough Engineer was also in attendance.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

The outward correspondence was read and approved. Petition. — A petition for formation of Third Avenue and footpath between Devonport and Cameron roads was submitted by Or Maxwell, and received; the petition to be considered at the .next meeting of the Council. Accounts foi* payment. — Sundry accounts ; were passed for payment, amounting to, £71 6s 2d.

Mayoralty. — On the proposition of Or Olarebrough, seconded by Or Maxwell, the Returning Officer was instructed to take, the necessary steps for the forthcoming Mayoral election.
