THE STOCKING-LESS STYLE^ The stockinglcss fashion, which one or two of tho more eccentric Paris maisons de modes are trying to launch led to an amusing scone at a smart tea shop in tho Avenue des Champs lilysees after tho races tho other afternoon, says <a correspondent of the 'Weekly Dispatch.' Two mannequins came in tand sat down at a table.
They were beautifully dressed, but beneath their shortened skirts peeped forth a vision of white skin, which appeared to shock profoundly an old gentleman at an adjoining table. .Atlirst ho gave vent to his feelings in audible comments, such as 'Disgusting! Scandalous' but, finding these had no effect he proceeded to everybody's consternation, to tako off 'his boots and spats, andj removing his socks, to make a neat pile of his footwear amongst the tea things on the tabic, finally planting his 'bare feet in the centre of tlio heap. The manager rushed up and ordered the client to put his socks and boots on again fat once. Not *at all,' said the old gentleman, 'I want to bo. in the fashion, and I am!' His point of view did not prevail, and he was bundled out protesting. But all Paris is laughing it his sally, '
