Drainage and Flood Damage.

WHO CUT THE DRAIN AT SPRINGFIELD ? A lengiihy report was submitted at last Wednesday's meeting 'regarding the above question (already dealt with in the report of the deputation which waited upon the Bruce County Council). The Mayor reported on the results of that conference. He remarked that the membei'3 for Tokomairiro Riding were endeavoring to bluff the Borough Coun* cil, and were evading tho main points. Cr Russell had gravely assured them "It was all. there !" in, the Borough Council's minutes of 1878 to 1880 as to who cut the drain near the English Church cemetery, Springfiald road. The report was adopted, on motion of tho Mayor, seconded by Cr Hifcchon. The former Bub«comtnitteo was again appointed to confer further with the sub-committee from Bruce County Couu« cil at its next meeting,
