The Liberty Loan.
The following is supplied by the Mia* later of Finance:— The people of Now Zealand are conn menoing to realise the faot that the War Loan has been plaoed on the market. The frnitß of the advertisements and advocacy of the Press, the clergy, schoolteachers, and heads of looal bodies are beginning to be apparent. Inquiries are numerous, particularly with referenoe bo the 5 per oent. Post Office war bonds, and money is commenoing to flow steadily into both the Treasury and the Post Office, One patriotic citizen in Ohristohareh has offered to exohange £SOO worth of 5£ per eent. debentures issued by a sound local body in exchange for a like amount of Post Office bonds. He Btandi to lose \ per eent. by the transaction, but Lis action is one of the first of the spirit in whioh it is hoped the loan will be regarded. With reference to thesei pes oent, bonds it cannot be too dearly understood that the only declaration required is one that the proposed purohase does sot bring the amount held beyond JBSOQ. The amount already reported to Wellington as suscribed reaches over £150,000. This may be regarded as but a small beginning towards the required, but there are no doubt many on the way,
