The monthly meeting of committee of above was held in tne Coronation Cnumbers 011 Monday evening. .Present— Messrs j. \V. Jr'etriC (chairman), W. Mouat, j unr, A. Currie, J. Kane, H. W. Hilton, and R. Milne. Apologies were received for the absence of Messrs E. tLollick and T. liitchon. Correspondence. Several letters from the Education Board were read, regarding granting Holidays for Dunedin carnival week. —Tiie chairman reported that the Rector ami himself nau provisionally agreed that the sciiool be closed on the Thursday and i v riday of carnival week, also lor balance of week and following Monday after the forthcoming examinations.—Action approved of, 011 motion of Mr A. Uurrie. The secretary to Otago Education Board notilied payment into bank of lis lid, being quarterly allowance. —Received. Rector's Report. (Mr W. B. Graham) reported as follows:—For the past four weeks the attendance has been very good. Many of tlie pupils who were absent through scarlet fever have been now returned to the school, tli® Healtn Officer having given the necessary certificate.—lnspectors Bossence and Don will examine the school on Monday, 18th September.— Miss Mackay, secondary assistant, and Miss Edgar, junior assistant, commeuced tneir duties at the beginning of August. —Received.
