Waihola Notes.
I (From Our Own Correspondent). I Tuesday, August 31. 1 The Farm.—Our farmers are very busy at present. Grain sowing is now general, one or two crops being above ground. It is to be hoped the soil soon receives some moisture, or there will not bo much prospect for crops. To-day looks as if we wero going to have some rain, and it is much needed, as I hear complaints of water tanks getting very low, but how one can enjoy these glorious spring days, and how-refreslnng to sit in the sun for half an hour or so at mid-day, and get the benefit of a sun bath before returning to one's duties indoors. of the King.—Yesterday morning four young men went from Waihola to to give in their names for active service, and to-night returned to be medically examined. Honor to them! I hope to be able to say next week that they wero all passed as fit—and proudly give their names or some more of Waihola's best accepted to become "Soldiers of the King."
