PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to the provisions of " The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1901," and its amendments, the Council of the Borough of Milton proposes to raise a Special Loan of SIX THOUSAND POUNDS 0£6ooo) for the purposes of: (1) Erecting Gas Works within the Borough to supply the inhabitants with Coal Gas; (2) Purchasing the necessary freehold site and all plant and material; and (3) Providing for the cost of construction, equipment and supervision of such works. It is also pro* posed—(l) That the said loan be secured by a Special Rate to be made and levied on all rateable property within the Borough, and that the said loan be repayable on the 31st day of December, 1928. (2) That the Council issue Sixty (60) Debentures of one hundred pounds each, payable on the said 31st day of December, 1928, with separate coupons attached thereto for each half-year's interest, and that the principal and interest secured by such Debentures be payable at the Bank of New Zealand at Dunedin or Milton, and (3) That it is proposed to pay out of the said loan the costs of raising the said loan and the interest thereon for the first year.
