PROPOSAL TO RAISE A SPECIAL LOAN, i)UBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY X GIVEN that a Meeting of the ratepayers of the Borough of Milton will be held in the Coronation Hall, Milton, on SATURDAY, the FOURTH day oi JULY, 1908, at the hour of 8 o'clock, p.m., to consider the proposal to raise a SPECIAL LOAN of ;£6ooo for the purpose of: (i) Erecting Gas Works within the Borough to supply the inhabitants with Coal Gas; (2) Purchasing a freehold site and all necessary plant and material for the undertaking; and (3) Providing for the cost of construction equipment and supervision of such works. And also to consider the further proposals. (1) That the said loan be secured by a special rate to be made and levied on all rateable property within the Borough and that the said loan be repayable on the 31st day of December, 1928. (2) That the Council issue a series of of Sixty Debentures of ;£ioo each payable on the said thirty-first day of December, 1928, with separate coupons attached thereto for each half-years' interest and that the principal and interest secured by such Debentures be payable at the Bank of New Zealand at Dunedin or Milton; and (3) That the cost of raising the said loan and the interest thereon • for the first year be paid out of the said loan.
