SUICIDE OF A SOCIALIST.
NEAR MR SEDDON'B GRAVE.
WELLINGTON,, Juno 12. A man, whoso name is said to be Albert E. Freeman, shot himself with a revolver noar the grave of tho Right Hon. R. J. Seddon shortly after 2 o'olock this afternoon. The shot penetrated the man's head, and he was taken to the hospital in a critical condition. On his person letters were found addressed to Mrs Seddon, Mr More and Mr R. Hogg, of the Socialist party. In the man's pockets was also found a large quantity of Socialistic literature, posters, etc., together with a letter From a - Socialistic organisation in Denver. Colorado, U.S.A. Constable Brown, who has been stationed in tho Botanical Gardens for some weeks past, had noticed the man about there on several occasions during the past three weeks. He was a resident of Jew's boardinghouse, Woodward Street, and is between 35 and 40 years of age. When found he was still breathing, and was taken to the hospital; but his condition is regarded as almost hopeless.
