Veils should be washed or thrown away when soiled, for the dust which collects in them is bad for the complexion. For stiffness of the muscles caused by overexertion- a very good rem-edy is to rub the. affected muscles thoroughly, with alcohol undiluted. All acids are more or less injurious to the teeth. Medicine in which there is acid should be taken through a glass tube and the mouth rinsed with a little borax and water. The wrinkles call-ed "crow's feet" should be prevented by daily stroking of the folds or where they would com. Keeping the blood in free circulate :t under the skin is a sure wrinkle preventive. The cockroach has been used for ages by the Kussian peasantry as a remedy in dropsy. Investigations 1v competent persons show I^nt the b-o ' v contains an active principle. Thisl...* received the name blattic acid. To make a first-rat* hnir wash shr--! an ounce of white sonp. pour over i l . a quart of boiling water and stir till <'\vsolved. When cool, add the whis l ed yolk of two eggs and a tablespoon ul of spirit* of rosemary. Cork tightly and shake well before use.
