WEEKLY MARKET REPORT.

Mesara Moritzson and Hopkin* Dnnedin, report aa follows for week ending May 25:— We would ask farmers when sending samples always to put a price on them, as buyers will not make offers. Wheat.— The demand ia very keen, and prices are firm at quotations. We quote : For best velvet, 53 to 5a 2d ; best Tusoan, 4a lid to 5s ; red ohaff, 4a lOd ; fowls' wheat, 3a 3d to 4s. Oats. — The market is brisk, and prices are quite Id per bushel higher. We quote : Beßt feed, 2<s 5d ; fatherlands, 2s 6d. Barley.— Feed sorts are quoted at *2i 3d to 2s 6d ; milling, 3* 31 to 4s ; malting, in strong demand, 4? 9d to 5s 2d. Ryecorn.-3a 6d. Flour : We quote £13 Oatmeal in 25's, £13 10a. Pearl barley, £2L. Bran £4. Pollard £5. Nelson hops are quoted at Is 3d. Chaff. — Owing to heavy supplies coming forward, prices are easier. Prime, £3 15s ; medium, £3 5s to £3 10s, Ryegrass. — The demand is good for small Bhotty seed. We have large orders to fill, and can place any quantity. We quote : For farmers' dressed, 2a 6d to 3s ; machined, 3s 3d to 4s. Cocksfoot, 3|d to 3|d for farmers' lots, and 4£d to s^d for machined. Linseed (wanted), £12 10a. Pressed straw, 25a. Clover hay, £3 se. Nitrate of soda, £15. Basic slag, £5. Clovers, rape, &c. just landing. We can offer all clasees pure and fresh. Potatoes. — The demand is very activei and prices show a big advance. We quote : Derwenfcs, £6 10a per ton. Hides. — l£d to 3|d, according to weight and condition. Tallow. — Rough fat, 9j to lla; rendered, 12a to 15s. Horsehair. — Is to Is 3d. Rabbitskins. — The market here is very firm, and all sorts meet with brisk competition. We cell by auction every Monday. SheepekiDS. —We held our usual weekly sale on Tuesday, when we offered a large catalogue. Competition was brisk and prices ruled very firm. Dry oroasbreds brought from 2* 6d to 5s 9d ; inferior, Is 3d to 2a 4d ; dry pelts, Id to 9d ; dry merinos, 2a 3d to sa ; inferior, Is to 2a ; green croaabreds, 23 to 3a 3d ; green lambukinp, 1c 9d to 3i each. We undertake country clearing sales. We have much pleasure in inviting all our country friends and visitors to the winter show to inspect our recently -erected grassseed cleaning machines, whioh are acknowledged to be the best south of the Line. FEtfIT AND PRODUCE REPORT. Butter : Prime salt, lOd ; medium, 93. Butter oaseß, witb parchments, 18a per dozen, Cheese : Good Akaroa, 3|d ; factory, 45 to 4^d. Pigs. — For good quality, 4d. Beeswax (wanted), 13 6i for prime quality. Fruit. — We receive consignments of all kinds of fruit and garden produce, which we sell either by auction or privately, as we think best in the interests of consignors. Cooking apples, IJd to If d ; pears, in good demand, 2d to 3d per lb, Messrs Dalgety and Co. (Ltd) report having held their usual weekly auction sale, when pricea ruled as under : — Oats. — We offered several lines of good feed oats, and sold at — Prime feed |2a 4^d, fair to medium 2a 3d to 2a 3|d. Wheat.— Several lines of fowl feed offeredi whioh sold at up to 4?. Potatoes. — The market ia well supplied ; prices have dropped from 2a 6d to 5s per ton. We quote — Prime Derwenfcs from L 5 17s 6d to L 6 2a 6d, but owners are mostly holding for higher prices. Chaff — We have to report a drop of fully 5a per ton on last week's quotations. Prime L 3 158 to L 3 17s 6d, fair to medium L 3 5s to L 3 12a 6d, Btraw chaff up to L 2 sa. Turnips (loose) 20a per ton.
