Thursday. In reply to Mr Johnston, Sir R. Stout said the Government would consider the question of offering a bonus of £2000 for the encouragement of tlie manufacture of New Zealand flax fibre. In reply to a question, Sir J. Yogel said the Board had decided to close the indußtrial branch of the Government Insurance Department. Mr Hatch's motion, to appoint exports to enquire into a saving In the Civil Service, was lost on the voices. The second reading of the Dog Tax Bill, increasing the tax to £1, was carried. In committee on the Limitation of Votes Bill, an amendment waa made providing that an elector Bhall not vote in more than one electorate.
