THE SYDNEY MARKETS.
(From ' Sydney Mail,' May 15.) PKODUCB. Wheat. — There is no change to note in this market;, fche arrivals being of New Zealand parcels, to which business is chiefly confined, at 4s to _s 3d per bushel; Victorian quoted to 4s 7d per bushel. New South Walee, none offering, and prices nominal. Flour. — Stocks augmented by supplies from our neighbouring colonies and our country mills during the week. The market is quiet, but remains firm afc the following quotations : — Adelaide town brands, £10 10s to £10 15s ; country, £10 to £10 10s ; New South Wales, £10 10s to £11 ; Victorian, £10 5s to £10 15s ; roller-made fljur, £11 10s to £12. Oats. — Additional stocks of New Zealand during the week. Business is chiefly confined to prime samples of heavy feed at to 2s 8d per bushel. The demand for other classes slack afc from 2s 3d per bushel. Limited inquiry for seed afc 2s 7d to 2s 9d per bushel. HORSES. Meesrß Brown Brothers and Co. report : — We sold 27 heavy draught horses afc from £20 to £31 10s ; 20 medium draught horses at from £15 to £18 ; a pair of buggy horses at £52 10s ; another at £45 ; and a pair of aged buggy mares afc £25 ; also, 18 stylish saddle and harness horses at from £20 to £35; and 33 horses, principally inferior saddle and harness and medium draught horses, at from £5 to £15. The market for heavy draught horses still coufcinues dull, whilst sales afc anything like satisfactory prices are extremely difficult to effect. Stylish saddle and harness horses, also active van and useful light harness horses, are in good demand, as are also horses suitable for pack work, an inquiry for the latter having arisen within tbe past few days for the Kimberley rush.
