THIS splendid imported blood horse, now rising 5 years, is a beautiful rich brown colour, and from his immense bone and muscle, combined with great symmetry and agility, cannot fail to leave stock adapted for any purpose, either carriage or turf. PEDIGREE :— Sire, Angler : dam, Norma, by King Alfred (imported), out of Bassinette, by Premier (imported); out of Mavourneen, by Lucifer ; out of Cushla Machree, by Little John (imported"). Angler is a son ofthe well known imported stallion Fisherman ; out of Marchioness (also imported) winner ofthe Epsom Oaks, who is half sister to the Marquis (imported), sire of Newininster, who, as a two-year-old, won last season upwards of £4000. King Alfred's sire is Pyrrhus Ist, winner ofthe Derby. Young Angler is half brother to Cleolite, winner of the Wagga Wagga Cup last year, and balf brother to the Chrysolite Colt, winner of the present year's Derby — the fastest on record, both being by Angler. Premier is sire of The Fawn, the dam of the great Richmond. He is also sire of Marmion, Musidora, Ebor, Miranda, and many other winners. Mavourneen, by Lucifer, sire of Don Juan. Youngler claims very close relation to Maribyrnong and Horatio. Young Angler has performed at Portland, winning the Maiden Plate, beating thirteen of the best horses : also run third in the Portland Handicap, beating thirteen horses out of sixteen, carrying 9st 2lbs ; also gained first prize as the best blood stallion exhibited at the Tasmanian Agrisultural and Pastoral Show, 1876, Tasmania.
