THE CLARKSVILLE JUNCTION.

To the Editor. • ■ Sib, —The attention of the authorities might with advantage be directed just now to the Clarksville Junction Question, as I am iiaformed a considerable portion of the line atj and immediately'above that station has been waahed'away by the flood, and that the Bame thing occurred on a former occasion; Whereas a line direct from Milton Station to a point about 1J miles above Clark3ville would be out of the way of th 3 floods, besides being a great saving, in distance. My informant v states thai a gate near the Clarksville Junction was , washed away and has not yefc ■ been recovered and that had the water risen a little higher, and continued a little longer the station would have been effectually removed without the assistance of the powers that be- There is a special pro.vidence in many things, and this flood occurring at this particular juncture might be one; at any rate the committee appointed by the late meeting would do well to direct attention to this aspect of the question. Yours truly, ' • ' Watebmam.
