TOWN AND COUNTRY. PKIZE. ' This prize was shot for on Saturday morning last, when twelve members of the company competed The morning was very ditli, i with a alight shower of rain and a light wind from the' left front.- Notwithstanding, two of the beat scores of the season were made — viz, Pvt. ATLafchie 52, and Pvt Clark 51 — tfyj ranges being 400/500, aud 600 yards, fiv*
shots at each range. Pvr.. M Latchie thus wins the priza twice in succession. At the 400 yards rauge ClarK made th« possible, and M'Latchie a poirfc less. Suh-Lieut. Reid and Pvt. Clark having tied on the last morning for Dr Ferguson's prize, and Clark having left before the firing terminated, the tie was decided on Saturday morning, Reid massing ftt>d Clark making an outer, therefore the firing will continue for the prize. This waa the first of three competitions, aud not five as mentioned in last issue. ' We aho made » mistake in arranging thp conditions of another prize, and have caused a deal of annoyauce thereby.
