(From the ' Star.') The Waste Lands Board met on Thursday. Present — the Chief Commissioner, and Messrs Reid, Strode, Clark, and Butlerworth. Messrs Connell and Moodie, for Mr D. Hannan, applied for a re-consideration of his application to purchase section 14, Upper T&ieri Side district. — Approved. Messs Macassey and Kettle, on behalf of Mr John O'Leary, wrote that he claimed to be regarded as the sole applicant for deferred payment section 3, block 1., Waikaka district, on the 24th. April last, and complaining that the applicant was not heard by the Bsard on his own behalf, as opposed to an application said to have been tendered by Miss Mary Thomson on the same date. — Postponed for the opinion of the Provincial Solicitor. Panger Campbell reported that one Andrew Campbell was cutting a water-race through the Waikawi Bush, for the purpose of washing off a terrace with timber on it^ — Referred to the Commissioner of Police. An appeal by Thomas Burton with reference to a decision of the Board on the l7(h instant , refusing his application to purchase sections 48 to 54 inclusive, block IF., Punedin and East Taieri district, was considered. — Approved. Ranger Bolton's application for an increaao of allowance for travelling expenses was referred to the Government. Mr Alex. Campbell applied to purchase at £1 per acre section 43, block 1., Dunodin and East Taieri district. — To be sold as land of special value. Messrs D. E. Mullins and D. O'Keefe applied to purchase under deferred payment lease sections 1 and 2, block VII. , and sections 52 and 53, block VI , Akatore district. — Granted. Mr F. H. Evans's (on behalf of Mr A. Nelson) application for a ena.l loaoe of ten acres, north of and adjoining section 34, block 11., Teviot district, was refused. Mr F. S. Canning, on behalf of Messrs A. Pollock and R. M. Sewell, applied for a seven years' license under the 91st clause of the Act to raise lignite from the back parts of sections 2 of 1 and 2, block T. , South Tuakitoto, now part of Kiitangata township reserve. — Referred to Ranger for report. Mr P. Leitchfield withdrew his assignment nf deferred payment leases, N.S. 245, 240, and 245, to Peter Harrington, the purchase money not having been paid. — Noted. Mr Joseph Gourley aaked for information relative to occupation of land at Waikawa f--r mining, — Referred to the Executive to see win ther it is necessary to proclaim a goldfield there. Henry Jones asked permission to withdraw from deferred payments sections 8 and 10, block IF., Chatton district, having bought the land on the misapprehension that the amount bid at auction was a yearly iiutead of a half-yearly rental. D. Cursan'a application to purchase 50 acres of land adjoining sections 5 and 21, block VI., Table Hill, and numbered section 29, to complete his property, was granted J«.>hn Fi'z^rall's complaint of hisnorHiern boundary line of section SS, block VI-, Tua Pfika West district, being altered after survey, was referred to the Survey Department fur explanation, Moasra Connell and Moodie, for Mr VV. J M. Larnach, applied for lease of reserve near Sandy Mount, block 111., Peninsula. — To b& sold by auction, as land of special value, at an upst-t price of £10 a-yoar ; valuation for fencing to be allowed. Mr W. H. Reynolds applied for a lease of section 1, block VII., Tuapeka East district, pmtaining eighty acres, known as the Waipori Corporatcd Mining Company's section.
